Thinking critical of audism - workshop - with DGS
Event
Feb. 7, 2023 • 16:00–19:00
Festival center, FFM

What does the life of deaf people look like? At first glance, many people think that sign language is beautiful, international and easy to learn. These prejudices are all untrue. Deaf people experience discrimination on a daily basis due to prejudice, also called “audism”. At the same time, deaf people have their own history, e.g. in the field of art, which is different from that of hearing people.
In addition to knowledge transfer and information about the lives of deaf people, there are also movement and reflection games with the goal of making the invisibility of being deaf visible.

The workshop is translated in German Sign Language
